Ronnie Lee Hollifield

Ronnie Lee Hollifield, 75, of Marion, passed away at his home on Monday, November 13, 2023 with his loving family by his side.

A native of McDowell County, he was born December 20, 1947 to the late Troy Greene Hollifield and Lela Jenkins Hollifield. He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Keith Hicks. Ronnie will be remembered as a true man of God and a devoted family man. It did his heart good to spend time with his grandchildren, and he especially looked forward to their ice cream dates. He also loved to camp and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Hattie Hollifield; two daughters, Dawn Banks and Karen Duncan (John); seven grandchildren, Kaylyn Nevel (Harry), Tyler Banks (Makaylah), Coby Conley (Rita), Kaylan Duncan (RJ), Gage Conley, Riley Hollifield (Antonio), and Autumn Hollifield; three great grandchildren, AJ King, Blakelyn Banks, Kaylee Nevel, and one on the way; two sisters, Pat Bolick (Tommy) and Linda Hicks (Alfred); and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a memorial service on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Yancey Street Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Owenby officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
