Ronnie D. Harvey

Ronnie D. Harvey of Marion, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on his 72nd birthday, April 23, 2021 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, Ronnie was the son of the late Rassie and Molly Harvey.  He was also preceded in death by a grandchild; and two siblings.

 

He is survived by a loving family, including life partner, Teresa Bartlett; one son, Chris Harvey (Megan); two daughters, Brandi Harvey and Kristen Arrington; his five grandchildren, who were very special to him; one sister, Susie Knighton; one brother, Wally Harvey; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

 

Ronnie was a selfless man who dedicated 54 years of protecting and serving others.  He served in the United States Army, North Carolina Department of Corrections, and for 16 years, he proudly served as a Deputy with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office. Ronnie’s law enforcement family was very dear to his heart. 

 

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 06, 2021 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory in Marion.  

 

Ronnie was known to make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, therefore in lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mr. Harvey’s memory are asked to consider, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or by visiting www.stjude.org.
