On the night of Thursday, May 06, 2021, Mr. Ronnie Lee Brooks, loving and amazing husband, father, grandfather and brother, made that wonderful cross over into Heaven at his residence. His loved ones were by his side. A resident of McDowell County, North Carolina, he was born on August 09, 1950 and was the son of Ida Brooks of Marion, North Carolina and the late Jack Brooks.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Gail Brooks Baker.
A member of Nix Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Ronnie was a logger at heart, and an avid fisherman who loved hunting and camping. Known to be a hard worker, he enjoyed serving the Lord. Not only did he love his church family, but he truly loved his family and making precious memories with them meant the world to him.
Ronnie is survived by, in addition to his mother, his loving wife, Dimmerriee Wilson Brooks; one son, Chris Brooks and his wife, Norma; one daughter, Jennifer Trantham and special friend, Colton Jenkins; three grandchildren, Hayden Trantham, David Harris and Bryson Rometti; and two great grandchildren, Leo Harris and Yaffa Harris. He is also survived by two sisters, Brenda Jenkins and Wilma Brooks and her husband, Eddie Anderson; and two brothers, Paul Brooks and his wife, Joy; and Earl Brooks.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Brooks will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Nix Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Brother Chad Chrisawn and Brother Jimmy Arrowood officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service, at the church.
