Ronald Merle Shaffer

Ronald Merle Shaffer of Hendersonville, NC passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the age of 76 at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Newland, NC. 

Ronald was born in Elyria, OH to the late Merle “Bud” Shaffer and the late Rita Stein Shaffer. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne Martin.

Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Navy and also worked at Blue Ridge Metals as a mechanical engineer and retired there as General Manager. Ronald was a member of the Moose Lodge of Asheville where he made many friends. He loved golfing and spending time with his golf buddies and was a huge fan of Ohio State. His family meant everything to him and he loved to spend as much time with them as possible. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Let’s not forget Ronald’s favorite quote, “Everything happens to me and Dick Tracy.” 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Keiko Shaffer; his daughter Sandi Hicks (Stuart); two grandsons, Alexander Galayde and Michael Liebhart; a granddaughter, Samantha Liebhart and a great grandson, Austin Parker.
