Roger L. Reel

Roger L. Reel, age 62, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills SECU Inpatient Unit in Forest City.  The son of the late Jack and Margaret Stevenson Reel, Roger was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on January 1, 1956.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Reel.

A loving father, grandfather and brother, he was known to have a heart of gold, and never met a stranger.  An avid NASCAR  and Carolina Tar Heels Basketball fan, Roger was the previous co-owner of Chow Time Pizza in Marion. 

He is survived by one daughter, Cindy Sams (Shane); one son, Kevin Reel (Jungsil); one sister Bobbi Philbeck; six grandchildren, Shayla, Marco, Donovan, Alexis, Abigail and Adalyn; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and former spouse, Maureen Reel.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Jimmy Upton officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
