Roberta Neighbors

Roberta Esther Moody Neighbors, age 91, of Marion, NC went to be with the Lord Monday, July 30, 2018 at Mountain Ridge Health & Rehab in Black Mountain, NC.

Mrs. Neighbors was born March 14, 1927 in Caldwell County, NC to the late John Moody and Nancy Elizabeth Caldwell Moody. 

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, James E. Neighbors.  She was the last of eight siblings.

Mrs. Neighbors was a longtime member of West Marion Baptist Church where she formerly served as the pianist.  She was an amazing artist.  She enjoyed quilting, painting, woodcarving and gardening.  She especially enjoyed time with her family.

Those left behind to cherish Mrs. Neighbors’ memories are two children, Debra N. Smith and Steve Neighbors (Diane); three grandchildren, Stephanie Kaylor (Charlie), Ryan Willis and Joshua Neighbors (Katherine); and five great grandchildren, Casey Kaylor (Megan Ceragioli), Reagan Kaylor, Kolton Willis, Henry Neighbors and Julia Neighbors.  She was also expecting a great great grandchild, Adalyn Kaylor.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 3, 2018 at McDowell Memorial Park with Rev. Coy Jeans officiating.
