Roberta Lee Satterfield English

Roberta Lee Satterfield English 85, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at her residence.

Roberta was born in Graffton, West Virginia on January 25, 1937 to the late Bernard Satterfield and the late Gertrude Knotts Satterfield. Roberta was an avid horseback rider and was also a dance instructor.  She especially loved her dogs, Jack and Skippy. Roberta will be remembered as a loving mother, sister and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

Roberta is survived by five children; Robert Cosen Turner (Brian), Linda Boone (Teddy), Charlene Annette Ponder, Charles Lee Ponder (Cindy) and James Bernard Ponder; two sisters, JoAnne Shaheen and Shirley Garrison; seven grandchildren, Chad Fox, Shana Fox, Jodie Fox, Dustin Boone, Kayla Ponder, Kyle Ponder and Jessica Ponder; Fourteen great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service with the Rev. Charles Dicks officiating.  Interment will be will follow at Boone Cemetery in Yancey County.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
