Robert "Bobby" Nathan Sherman

Robert "Bobby" Nathan Sherman, 59, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at his residence.

He was born in Buncombe County on June 14, 1962 to the late Thomas Calvin Sherman and Gladys Worley Sherman.

Bobby worked on and drove heavy equipment all his life as a diesel mechanic. He also enjoyed farming. Bobby was a lifelong firefighter as well and was involved with the Old Fort Fire Department. Those in the fire service were Bobby's second family for the last 41 years. Above all, he loved his family greatly.

He is survived by his children, Travis Sherman and Chelsea Sherman (Lorenzo Kennedy); and four siblings, Carolyn Slagle (Robert), Brenda Bryan, Annette Hayes (Roger), and Jerry Sherman (Vickie); and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Jeffrey Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
