Robert W. Poteat

Robert W. Poteat, loving husband, grandfather and brother, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 at his home at the age of 68.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born October 25, 1948, he was the son of the late Terrance and Florence Moore Poteat. 

Robert was also preceded in death by his son, Eric M. Poteat who passed away on October 31, 2016.  Mr. Poteat was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Judy Poteat of the home; one sister, Nancy Holland of Valdese; one brother, Douglas Poteat of Hickory; one granddaughter, Sarah Poteat of Valdese; and a number of nieces and nephews.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Poteat residence.
