Robert Nolan Nelson

Robert Nolan Nelson, Jr., age 56, of Hickoy, North Carolina formerly of Marion, NC passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at his home.

Bob was born May 7, 1962 in McDowell County, NC to the late Robert “Shorty” Nolan Nelson and Aileen Mosteller Nelson.  Prior to his illness, he worked for Nelson Plumbing.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Sherri Anne Nelson.

Those left behind to cherish Bob’s memories are five siblings, Cecil Mosteller, Steve Rogers, Ruth Buchanan, Keith Hensley and John Edward Nelson; a special nephew, Christian Nelson; and a special caregiver, Mary Sigmon.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Beam Funeral Service.  A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dean Owenby officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beam Funeral Service to help the Nelson family with funeral expenses.
