Mr. Robert L. Litwin, age 90, of the North Cove Community, passed away peacefully at his home in the early morning hours of Friday, August 07, 2020. Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 23, 1930, he was the son of the late Leo and Marian Kindzierski Litwin.
Mr. Litwin graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a degree in engineering. Following graduation, he served honorably in the United States Navy for 30 years (1947-1977) advancing to the rank of Senior Chief Machinist Mate with over 12 years active duty abroad submarines.
Robert was a devout Christian man who was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church in Asheville, North Carolina and also attended North Cove Baptist Church in Marion, North Carolina. He loved his morning devotionals and prayer, asking God to intercede for salvation and wisdom, quoted daily “I rise today with the power of God to guide me…”. In addition to his great love for the Gospel, was his equally great love for his wife of 37 years, Linda. He frequently reminded those who loved him that his priorities included God, then Linda, then everybody and everything else! They experienced an incredible marriage, with Linda caring for Robert at home during his declining health and nine-month Hospice duration. His hobbies included gun collection, working in his tool shop, woodworking/models and drawing.
Robert is survived by his loving and amazing wife Linda Clark Bryant; one son, Michael Litwin (Diana); two daughters, Dana McCaffrey (Sean) and Amy Forde (Lester); and seven wonderful grandchildren, Abigail McCaffrey, Mikayla Forde, Audrey Buran, Austin Forde, Bryce Buran, Isabella McCaffrey and Avery Buran.
