Robert Burton Guy

Robert Burton Guy, 66, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his residence.

He was born in Haywood County on April 07, 1954 to the late James Burton and Ruth Sluder Guy.

Robert retired from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety as a captain. He enjoyed fishing, working puzzles, and doing yard work. Robert loved his family and friends and never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Marion.

He is survived by his siblings, J.T. Guy and wife Laura and Kathy Wagoner; cousins, Gary, Paul, and Patty Sluder, and Marie Bartlett; and close friends, Arnold Byrd, Monica, Ashlyn, Tori, and Dakota Rector; Becky Dale, Donnie Denny, Kenny and Kathy Denny, Bessie Denny, Ray and Joyce Byrd, Buddy and Jenifer Lewis and their sons and Max Barrier.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bob Tuttle officiating and Rev. Rob Warren assisting. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.

The family requests that all who attend the service wear a mask and practice social distancing.
