Robert “Bob” Glenn Carter, age 76, of Old Fort, North Carolina passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Memorial Campus in Asheville. Born in Orlando, Florida on June 21, 1943 to the late Robert and Hattie Warren Carter.
He is preceded in death by his infant daughter, as well as one brother Phillip Jackson Carter.
Bob was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a member of Crime Stoppers Organization of McDowell County. He enjoyed being a part of the Carpenter’s for Christ. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and had a life long love for music. He sang in a bluegrass gospel group called “Glory Bound” and “Innermission”. Bob and other band members traveled many miles doing fundraising for several church needs.
Bob is survived by his wife of forty years, Revonda Carter; four children, Tracy Richardson (Dennis Watts), Greg Carter, Teresa Dale (Greg) and Samantha Wyatt (Zeb). Also surviving Bob are twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A receiving of friends will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Bethlehem Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Toney Lunsford officiating. Interment will follow the service at Bethlehem Community Cemetery.
