Robert Wayne Burns

 Robert Wayne Burns, age 61, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at his residence surrounded by some of his closest and most treasured family.  

 He was born in Haywood County on August 14, 1959 to Bobby Burns and Mary Holcombe Webb.

 Robert, who enjoyed making jokes, was an avid fan of racing, wrestling, and football. Florida State Seminoles was his favorite football team, and he always wore some type of clothing to show how much of a fan he was. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Nothing compared though to how much Robert loved his family. Robert was most happy with his title of Papaw or Pappy from his precious grandchildren. 

 He is preceded in death by step-father, James Webb; a brother, Carroll Webb; and both sets of grandparents.

 Those left to cherish his memories, in addition to his parents and step mother, Sandra Burns, are his two sons, Chris Burns and wife Kendra and Cody Burns; six grandchildren who he loved dearly; two sisters, Belinda Edmonds and husband Jeremy and Carol Vanassche and husband Justin; two nieces, Julie Moody and Jessica Vanassche; his former wife and friend, Terri Burns.

 A private graveside service will be held at Cross Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Frank Cantrell officiating.
