Robert Marshall Buchanan

Robert Marshall Buchanan, age 63, of Marion, North Carolina passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC, with his loving family by his side.

Robert was born June 28, 1954 in Burke County, NC to the late Jerome Marshall Buchanan and Mary Ruth McFalls Buchanan. 

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Tammy Jane Buchanan, October 4, 2013; his granddaughter, Rachel Marshburn, March 3, 2004; and one brother, Ronnie McFalls.

Those left behind to cherish Robert’s memory are four daughters, Amanda Marshburn (Jason), Dawn Buchanan Smith (Jeff), Nicole Buchanan and Teresa Woodruff; eleven grandchildren, Mercedes Woodruff, Cirera Woodruff, Izak Woodruff, Izaiah Irby, Shyann Smith, Feenix Smith, Tamra Marshburn, Charlie Marshburn, Alexus Effler, Porsha Carter and Kevin Carter; and seven siblings, Ray Buchanan (Larinda), Larry Buchanan (Teresa), Steve Buchanan, Doug Buchanan, Janice Buchanan, Joyce Buchanan and Kay Grant (Sandy).

The family will receive friends from 12:33 p.m. until 1:33 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory.  A memorial service to celebrate Robert’s life will follow at 1:33 p.m. at the funeral home with Jeff Smith officiating.
