Robert McCoy Bradley

Robert McCoy Bradley, age 85, devoted father, grandfather and husband, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Burke Hospice & Palliative Care in Valdese. The son of the late Floyd and Hettie Crawley Bradley, he was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on February 17, 1934.  He was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Robert was a simple man.  He had worked hard his entire life to provide for his family. Following 40 years of service, in 1999 Robert retired from Broyhill Furniture.  He enjoyed over 20 years in retirement working on his farm raising a garden and cattle and spending time with his wife and family. Always remaining active, he would walk along his property, usually twice a day; working on various projects around the home; and befriending neighbors and helping them when he could.

Left to cherish Robert’s memory are his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Jean Padgett Bradley; three children, Becky Huffstetler (Melvin), Robert Bradley, Jr. and Jonathan Bradley; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Marion.
