Robert "Bob" Henry Grooms

Mr. Robert “Bob” Henry Grooms, age 67, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville, North Carolina.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, he was born on April 01, 1953, and was the son of the late Carl and Leah Anderson Grooms.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Lesley Grooms and Cecil Ray Grooms.

An avid gardener who could make anything imaginable grow, weather it be flowers or vegetables, Bob enjoyed nature and loved sitting in Mill Creek at his home. He was a masterful craftsman with wood.  

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Stephanie Walsh Grooms of the home; four brothers, Lee Grooms (Shirley) of Old Fort, Jimmy Grooms of Black Mountain, Gary Grooms of Old Fort and Mark Grooms (Gretta) of Maryville, Tennessee; and a number of nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his beloved stray cats that he gave love and life to.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, no services are planned at this time.
