Robert Leon Arrington

Robert Leon Arrington, 83, of Marion, departed this life on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Frye Regional Medical Center.

A native of McDowell County, he was born on October 23, 1940 to the late Rashio and Nellie Davidson Arrington. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William Arrington; and his special canine companion who meant the world to him, Toby. 

Robert was formerly employed with Pet Dairy as a merchandiser, and he was a longtime member of West Court Baptist Church. He was an avid fan of the UNC Tarheels, and he enjoyed golf. He had many friends, and in recent years, Robert visited Sharon’s Café every morning for breakfast where he was loved by all. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His memory will forever be a blessing to those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Romine Arrington; four children, Suzy Arrington (Monty), Michael Arrington, Mandi Morgan (Travis), and Tammy Morgan; four grandchildren, Joshua Morgan, Hannah Morgan, Camryn Morgan, and Cole Morgan; sister-in-law, Teresa Causby (Roy); and his mother-in-law, Jerald Romine Lee.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at West Court Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Burchette officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
