Ricky Eugene Fender

     Ricky Eugene Fender, 67, of Asheville, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at his residence.

     Ricky was born in Asheville, NC on January 5, 1955 to the late James Fender, Sr. and Doris Butler Fender. He was of Christian faith and was formerly married to Brenda Fender. Ricky was a career truck driver with a great appreciation of the outdoors. He loved camping and hunting, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.

     In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by two brothers, James Fender, Jr. and Micky Fender.

     He is survived by a son who cherished his dad as his hero for his entire life, Sonny Fender of Asheville; two wonderful grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor Fender of Fletcher; two special great granddaughters, Ansley and Tristan of Fletcher; a special great niece, Kinsley Crosby; and many other family members and loved ones.

     A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at New Salem Baptist Church, in Skyland, North Carolina at 2:00 p.m.
