Richard Arval Parsons

Richard Arval Parsons, age 67, of Marion, NC passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 at his home.

Richard was born March 27, 1951 in Chilhowie, VA to the late Jerome Parsons and Fannie Debord Parsons.  Prior to his illness he worked at Columbia Forest Products in Old Fort.   He enjoyed going to auctions, buying, selling and collecting items.  He was a good, Christian man who will forever be missed.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, James “June” McBee.

Those left behind to cherish Richard’s memories are his beloved wife of 41 years, Frances Puckett Parsons; two step-children, Elmer O’Quinn and Pam Barnes; and one brother, Kermit Houck.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Richard's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Jeff Duncan officiating.
