Richard "Dick" Thomas Mustin

Richard “Dick” Thomas Mustin, 84, of Old Fort, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville.

Dick was born on February 03, 1939 in Memphis TN. to George Thomas Mustin and Hallie Robinette Taylor who preceded him in death. His grandson, Thomas Ray Welch and his step-father, Ira Gene Taylor also preceded him in death.

Dick was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Marion. He graduated from Georgia Tech and after Graduating went to work at Old Fort Finishing and later became the co-owner of Hi-Tec Machine Shop. Dick was known as a very hard worker who never met a stranger. One of the things he enjoyed was playing golf. Dick was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving Dick is his wife of 49 years, Christine Mustin; his children, Kim McIntosh (David), Todd Mustin and Angela Mustin (Ray Welch); six grandchildren, Brittany Wright, Brandon McIntosh (Yvonne Pu), Ashley Riddle, Heather Mustin, Amber Riddle, Courtney Mustin (Marcus Kim),; four great grandchildren, Arlo Wright, Aidan Wright, Asa Wright and Easton McIntosh and his canine companion, Penny.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Rob Warren officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.
