Richard Eugene Coffman

Richard Eugene Coffman, age 68, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at SEC Hospice of Rutherford County. Richard was born on December 9, 1948 to the late David and Laura Mae Scaggs Coffman.

He is preceded in death by his wife Jeretha Meadows Coffman.

Richard was a former member of Piedmont Baptist Church and enjoyed watching western shows and studying world maps. He was formally employed in the West Virginia coal mines. Richard was known to have a green thumb. He also enjoyed collecting coins, pocket watches and marbles.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his two children, Tonya and Tricia Coffman; three sisters, Joann Adkins, Shirley Bailey and Helen Meadows. Also, surviving Mr. Coffman are three grandchildren; Jessi Coffman, Ashlie Hudson and Ciannah Coffman and one great-grandchild, Graidyn Hudson.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Piedmont Baptist Church with Reverend Ad Hopper officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Piedmont Baptist Church cemetery.
