Revonda Darlene Morris Lanning "Mama Von"

Revonda Darlene Morris Lanning “Mama Von,” 63, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022 at her residence.

A native of McDowell County, she was born November 01, 1958 to the late Jerry Morris and Floy Jean Strickland Presnell.

Revonda was a caregiver at heart. She spent her life working in home health. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and anyone she came in contact with meant the world to her. She received joy by helping others, and she was always there for anyone who needed her help or guidance. She was also a very honest person.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Roy Dean Owens; maternal grandmother, Gretchen Strickland; and her uncle, Clyde Strickland.

She is survived by her husband, Ricky Lanning; her father who raised her, Roger Presnell; three children, Michelle Morris (Sam), Tim Owens, and Mickey Owens (Robin); twelve grandchildren, Casey Robinson (Wesley), Emma Laws (Charlie), Tori Dowdy (Bradley), Darryl Scoggins (Bailey), Seth Andrews (Jordon), Tyla Owens (Cam), Ayla Scoggins, Harmony Scoggins, Myka Owens, Serenity Owens, Winter Owens, and River Owens; five siblings, Ricky Morris (Gladys “Peanut”), G.G. Morris (Larry), John Presnell (Alicia), Jim Presnell (Shannon), and Michael Wren (Anthony); and a number of nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory. No formal service will be held.
