Reverend Kenneth Ray Hall

April 19, 1929 — February 27, 2017

 

Rev. Kenneth Ray Hall, age 87, of Marion, North Carolina passed away peacefully Monday, February 27, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was born in McDowell County on April 19, 1929 to the late Reverend Jess and Fannie Thomas Hall.

 

Rev. Hall was preceded in death by his first wife Alva Maney Hall, step-son Jason Huffman, a sister Elvie Hall and three brothers Ralph Hall, Alfred Hall and Harold Hall.

 

A caring and dedicated minister, Rev. Hall had pastored at Parkers Chapel, Sunny Grove Baptist, Marion Mission, Hankins Baptist, Muddy Creek Baptist and several other churches throughout Western North Carolina. At an early age, he was a member of a band, “Rhythm Kings” where he not only played the steel guitars, but built them as well. Rev. Hall was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.

 

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Jerolene Roberts Hall of the home; three children, Debra Street, Sandra Hammond (Kenny) and Jack Hall, all of Marion; one step-son, Lynn Helms (Sandra); one sister, Jessie Martin (Sam) of Marion; five grandchildren, Stephanie Evans, Brooke Ishikura, Chris Taylor, Brad Taylor, all of Marion; and Greg Taylor of Michigan; four step grandchildren, Misty Farley, Michelle Burleson, Tammy Byrd and Wendy Helms. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren and special friend, Susan Bishop.

 

A funeral service to honor the life of Rev. Hall will be held on Wednesday, March 01, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Andrew Walker and Pastor Burl Jones officiating. Interment, with military honors will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
