Pastor Bruce Eugene Marlowe, 47, of Marion, North Carolina, was promoted unexpectedly on Saturday, July 17, 2021 to his “big house over yonder.”
He was born in Mecklenburg County on September 22, 1973 to the late Eugene Marlowe and Bonnie Lawing Marlowe.
A loving husband and father, he was deeply loved in return. Whenever you asked him how he was doing, he would always say, “Better than I deserve.” We rejoice today knowing that he is better than he has ever been. He will be missed.
Those left to cherish his precious memories are his wife of 26 years, Rebecca “Becky” Chrisco Marlowe; his son, Caleb Marlowe; two siblings, Bonnijean Marlowe Marley (Scott) and Bryan Max Marlowe; and eleven nieces and nephews.
Bruce was the Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Old Fort. He loved his church family immensely and was very active with the youth. He was passionate to see souls saved and longed that everyone he met would know Jesus personally as he did.
Bruce, who formerly served as a paramedic in Burke County, was a faithful member of the Sugar Hill Montford Cove Fire Department for 33 years. He was employed at Machine Builders & Design Inc. in Shelby for 29 years. Bruce was an avid car enthusiast who truly enjoyed drag racing. He was partial to Chevrolet.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service.
A service to celebrate the life of Pastor Bruce will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Community Cemetery.
