Rev. Benny T. Duncan

Rev. Benny T. Duncan, 67, of Statesville, North Carolina, went home with his Savior on Saturday, August 27, 2022. A native of McDowell County, Benny was a retired pastor serving Burke and Iredell counties. He dedicated his life to serving God and helping others. He was very generous toward all.

Benny was born October 31, 1954 to the late Phillip Lee Duncan and Ruby Gillespie Duncan. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ted, Roger, and Gary; and an infant grandchild.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Sharon Wilson Duncan; two daughters, Crystal Stump (Chris) and Amanda Stinnett (Thomas); six grandchildren, Daphne Wright (Brandon), Logan Holler, Lanna Holler, Courtney Stinnett, Micah Holler, and Brayden Stump; and one great grandchild, Sailor Wright.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 01, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Going Home Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service at the church.
