Renita Evette Lytle Swepson

Renita Evette Lytle Swepson, 57, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC.

Renita was a beautiful person with a gentle loving soul. She was a generous person, kind, helpful, easy to get along with and had incredible patience. She was family oriented and poured herself into her children and grandchildren. Nita loved to travel, shop, and was particularly fond of yard and estate sales. Her recent interest was in genealogy research which she thoroughly enjoyed. Nita will be best remembered for her beautiful smile.

Renita was born in McDowell County on October 30, 1964 to the late Robert "Ted" Lytle and Lucille Dorsey Lytle. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Bernadine Lytle; and a brother-in-law, Carlson Anderson.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin Swepson, III; two sons, Tarius Lytle (Jasmine), Jamal Lytle, one daughter, Achunda Swepson; three stepchildren, Kenji Swepson (Dana), Kameshya Swepson, and Marvin Swepson, IV; nine grandchildren, Amani Lytle, Eris Lytle, Gabriel Lytle, Naliyah Boyce, Tessa Swepson, Gianah Rometti, Shania Swepson, Olivia Swepson, and Kennedy Swepson; and seven siblings, Gloria Jean Anderson, Thomas Lytle, Rev. James Lytle (Evelina), Robert "Bobby" Lytle, Mary "Tiny" Edgerton, Darlene Covington (David), and Terriel Lytle (Esther); and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 05, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Catawba View Missionary Baptist Church at 141 Albert Joyner, Sr. Road, Old Fort, NC 28762 with Rev. James Lytle and Rev. Ronald Sullivan officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial will be at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, March 08, 2022 at 12:oo noon .
