Renee Allison Freeman, age 58, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospital following a brief illness. A native of McDowell County, born January 8, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Barbara Fender Allison.
A very giving and caring person, Renee was known to have been a “workaholic”. A member of Clinchfield United Methodist Church, she was fond of going to the beach, but most of all, Renee loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by one son, Shane Freeman (Ashley); one sister, Vickie Hutherson (Kenneth); one granddaughter, Alexis Freeman (Tim Parton), and her mother, Rachel Bartlett; and one great grandson, Braxston Lane.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Clinchfield United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church. At other times the family will be gathering at 77 Forsythe Street in Marion.
