Rebecca Lynn Stevens

Rebecca Lynn “Becky” Stevens, age 57, of Marion, NC passed away, after a 2 year courageous battle with cancer, Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at McDowell Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Becky was born May 3, 1960 in McDowell County, NC to the late Charles Ledford and Savannah Whitesides Ledford.  She worked for Sugar Hill Truck Stop for many years and for the past several years she worked at Bantem Chef until her health started to decline.  She enjoyed cooking and loved animals, especially horses.  Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren.  In 2015, Becky gave her life to the Lord.  She loved God and reading her Bible.  She was a member of Vision Baptist Church.  In her battle with cancer, Becky suffered a lot, but she never complained.   

Left behind to cherish her memories are her husband of 16 years, Daren Stevens; two children, Crystal and Brandon Brown; one step-son, Allen Lamb; nine grandchildren, and two of which are of the home, Skyler and Alexis Thorne; three siblings, Jeff Ledford and wife, LuAnn, Brenda Smith and Linda Wacaster and husband, Mark; two nieces, Tabitha Ledford and Tori Waycaster; and two nephews, Scott Ledford and Travis Ledford.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory.  A Memorial Service to celebrate Becky’s life will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Brewer officiating.
