Raymond Eugene Ledford

Raymond Eugene Ledford, age 70, of Nebo, NC went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Mission Hospital McDowell, surrounded by his loving family. 

Raymond was born December 20, 1947 in Murphy, TN to the late Albert Junior Ledford and Peggy King Amerto.  He worked for East Marion Manufacturing until his retirement.  Some of his favorite things were playing guitar, going to the trade lot, drinking Sundrop and Coca-Cola Slushies, going fishing, eating fish, and especially being with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Tommy Ledford.

Those left behind to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 53 years, Evelyn Ledford; three children, Ray Bryan Ledford and wife, Tammy, Denise McCormick and husband, Doug and Teresa Worley and husband, Derek; eight grandchildren, Bryan, Bridget, Kristi, Beth, Jenny, April, Ashlee and Bailey; eleven great-grandchildren, Wesley, Emily, Zachary, Bella, Carly, Pierce, Joselyn, Chandler, Brentley, Dawson and Paisley; two sisters, Peggy Blackwood and husband, Johnny and Gloria Dodd; and one brother, Michael Amerto.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Beam Funeral Service.  A Funeral Service to celebrate Raymond’s life will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Cemetery.
