Raymond Foster

Early Monday morning on, July 29, 2024 Raymond Roosevelt Foster of Maiden, NC, formerly of Marion, passed away at his residence. 

Raymond was born in Wilkes County to the late William Thomas Foster and the late Esther Hamby Foster on September 30, 1941. 

Raymond lived in Marion for sixty five years prior to moving to Maiden. He was a member of Greenlee Baptist Church of Old Fort. Raymond worked his career in construction proving to be a master road builder. He worked on jobs that included the 321 Clover Leaf, Marion bypass and parts of the Charlotte Motor Speedway. He was an avid Washington Redskins and Los Angeles Dodgers fan. He loved going to car shows and collected many cars himself. Raymond never met a stranger and had a great personality. 

Preceding him in death are a daughter, Sara Lynn Foster; brothers, Billy Foster, Junior Foster, Harvey Foster and Harold Foster along with a sister, Norma Sue Hicks. 

Surviving Raymond are his wife of sixty five years, Ruby Shelton Foster; a son, Michael Foster and wife Renee; three daughters, Lisa Frisbee and husband Danny, Tabitha Bagwell and husband Walt and Julie Farr and husband Kevin; three brothers, Paul Foster, James Foster and wife Janice, Donald Foster and wife Retta; sister, Wanda Walsh; grandchildren, Christopher Busse, Brandon Foster, Kaleigh Lovell, Chandler Frisbee (Nicole), Brooklyn Bagwell, Josh Bagwell (Savannah), Sydney Buchanan, Victoria Buchanan, Nathan Farr (Caitlin) and Caitlyn Farr; great-grandchildren, Ethan Busse, Hailey Foster, Emily Foster, Zack Foster, Abel Farr, Addison Farr, Amelia Farr and Parker Frisbee. 

A funeral service, celebrating Raymond will be held on Friday, August 02, 2024 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Robert Greene officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00. Burial will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Red Cross.
