Ray Ansel Medford

Ray Ansel Medford, age 82, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away on May 30, 2020 at Autumn Care of Marion.  Born in Swain County, North Carolina on March 08, 1938, he was the son of the late Grover Roscoe Medford and Annie Jane Suttles. 

A member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Old Fort, Ray enjoyed camping and fishing.  He was known to fix about anything, and was a small engine repairman.

He is survived by his four children, Katherine Bradley, Vicki Medford, Linda Medford and Rick Medford (Cheryl); two siblings, Carroll Medford and Cletus Medford; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. 

A celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Thursday, June 04, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
