Randy Charles Seay, Jr., of Marion, NC left this earth on June 5, 2023. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Kandahar, Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom with the International Security Assistance Force also serving in the Army Reserves as a heavy vehicle operator and drill sergeant at Fort Jackson, Police Officer for both Marion City Police Department, and the Veteran Affairs Police Department as a training Lieutenant. He was a jack of all trades and could fix most of his carpentry mistakes with a belt sander. He loved to teach others about firearms and beekeeping, and was excellent at doing so. You could also find him in the woods turkey hunting, deer hunting and fishing whenever he could, and above all he was a wonderful father.
Left to keep the good memories of him alive, are his wife Ashley; his precious children who he adored, Kayla, Hadley, Huxley and Sawyer; parents, Stanley and Robin Baker; a grandmother, Christine Buchanan; sisters, Melissa, Angie and Stephanie and several nieces and nephews. He also had a few special friends who were like brothers to him, who helped him hold the pieces together when he allowed.
Instead of flowers or donations the family asks that you continue on the kindness Randy showed to others by doing an act of kindness to someone in need.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Nebo Crossing at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 prior to the service at the church. A private family interment will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
