Rev. Randolph Autrey, 89, of Marion, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, at his residence.
Randolph was born in Yancey County, North Carolina, on December 10, 1932, to the late Jasper and Bonnie Gouge Autrey. He was married to his wife of sixty nine years, Dorothy McPeters Autrey. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. Randolph was a Pastor. He dedicated his life to sharing the Gospel. He was Pastor at South Toe Baptist Church prior to his retirement. Randolph was devoted to his family. He was full of love and was loved by many.
In addition to his parents, Randolph was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Randolph Autrey; two sisters, Augusta Branch and Sadie Autrey; and three brothers, Leland, Ranis, and Lewis Autrey.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Dorothy Autrey of Marion; two sons, Randall Autrey of Yancey County and Russell Autrey and wife Lauren of Marion; a brother, David Autrey and wife Martha of Yancey County; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2022, at Bethel Freewill Baptist Church in Marion. Rev. Larry Anderson will officiate and Rev. Jeff Autrey will assist. Burial will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the Church.
