Ralph Little Harris, Jr.

Ralph Little Harris, Jr., 92, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, April 03, 2022 at Rose Hill Retirement Community.

He was born in Burke County on March 05, 1930 to the late Ralph Little Harris, Sr. and Frances Raye Orders Harris.

Ralph attended Old Fort High School and completed his education in the military. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army in which he served honorably for over 20 years as a welder. He was also part of the rifle team and traveled extensively across the United States competing. He was a former resident of the Bowling Green, Kentucky area. Ralph was also an avid golfer, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wives, Hazel Gabbard Harris and Pauline S. Harris; a sister, Johnsie Walker; and a brother, Jimmie Harris.

Ralph is survived by his sister, Barbara Carswell; a sister-in-law, Ruth Harris; a step-daughter, Charlotte Lewis; and several step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 06, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Old Fort with Rev. Drew Dalton officiating. Interment will follow at Cherry Springs Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm.
