Rachel Aina Lake

Rachel Ollanketo Lake, age 47, of Marion, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at her residence. A native of Kenosha County, Wisconsin, Rachel was born on August 13, 1971 to the late Thomas and Elizabeth Salmi Ollanketo.

Rachel attended Shining Light Baptist Church. She was known to be a dedicated Christian lady. A very compassionate person, she was always working to help others. Rachel was always thinking eternally and trying to point others toward Christ.

Those left behind to cherish Rachel’s memories are her children, Amanda Williams (Justin), Andrew Lake and step-son, Anthony Lake; siblings, Bruce Ollanketo, Lois Tate, Audrey Henshaw (Tracy), Eric Ollanketo (Karla), Lee Ollanketo (Melanie) and Hank Ollanketo (Sarah). Also surviving Rachel are one granddaughter, Isabella Williams and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Shining Light Baptist Church.  A funeral service to celebrate Rachel’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Reverend Danny Castle officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.
