Rachael Elizabeth Hollifield

Rachael Hollifield, age 49, of Marion, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Mission Hospital – St. Joseph Campus in Asheville.  The daughter of the late James and Mary Kirkpatrick, she was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on July 30, 1967.

A precious lady, Rachael was always full of love and compassion for others.  A loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hollifield, Sr., who passed away in 2004; and one sister, Missy Kirkpatrick.

She is survived by one son, Paul Hollifield, Jr. (Jessica); two sisters, Kim Ashe (Gregg) and Sarah Brannon (Charles); one brother, David Kirkpatrick (Angela); one niece, Kagan Kirkpatrick; one nephew, Blake Kirkpatrick (Amber); and special uncle, Harmon Strickland and his wife Pam.

A service to honor the life of Rachael will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Doug Carpenter officiating.  Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
