Quentin Lashaun "Shaun" Parks

     Quentin Lashaun “Shaun” Parks, 46, of Morganton, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville.

     Shaun was born in McDowell County, NC on February 3, 1978 to Kathy Donnelle Parks and the late Carl Edward Young. He enjoyed playing video games and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing and was a firearms enthusiast. Shaun was always full of life and fun to be around. He will be greatly missed by his friends and loved ones.

     In addition to his father, Shaun was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jeanette & Bill Parks; and his paternal grandmother, Ruth Young. 

     Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Kathy Parks; three children, Shavonn Moore & wife Jaqueline, Dakayla Parks (and her mother, Kandy Valentine), and Tiana Lewis (and her mother, Jessica Lewis); a sister, Sherri Parks; three aunts, Drucilla Goodman & husband Maurice, Karen Parks & husband Jonathan, and Terri Gray; three uncles, Arthur Parks, Michael Parks, and Patrick Parks; and a special niece and nephew, Dominique Burnette and Marquette Burnette. 

     A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Rev. William Long will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home; and other times at the home of Terri Gray, 29 W. Wilhemenia St., Marion, NC 28752.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
