Phillip Keith Ramsey

Phillip Keith Ramsey, 71, of Valdese, NC, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at his residence.

Phillip was born in McDowell County on October 3, 1952 to the Walter and Macy Edwards Ramsey.

He was a proud US Army Veteran and loved being a part of his Legion Post 234. Phillip was a fan of the UNC Tarheels and the Greenbay Packers. He was known for his sense of humor and was a good hearted father, brother and grandfather.

Along with his parents, Walter and Macy Edwards Ramsey, he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Bertino Ramsey; his sisters, Arlene McKinney and Betty Ramsey; brothers, Wayne Ramsey, Gene Ramsey, Don Ramsey, Bill Ramsey and Warren Ramsey.

Surviving Phillip are his four children, Keith Ramsey, Shane Ramsey (Tosha), Andrew Halverson (Leah) and Dawn Jones (J.P.); his siblings, Alda Tipton, James Ramsey (Faye) and Maxine Causby (Jerry) and his seven grandchildren, Tyler Ramsey, Cole Ramsey, Lela Davis, Peyton Jones, Emily Jones, Frederick Halverson and Benjamin Halverson, along with a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place later at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
