Phillip Gregory Harmon

Mr. Phillip Gregory Harmon, age 63 of Old Fort, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Mission Hospital in Asheville. The son of Jo Bivins Harmon, and the late Jack Howard Harmon, he was born in McDowell County on May 11, 1956.

Phillip was known as an avid Duke and Carolina Hurricanes Hockey fan. He loved going to yard sales and adding to his knife collection. Most of all he was known as a loving father, son, grandfather and brother. His family was his life and he will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his father, Phillip was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Harmon (Nora Jean Buchanan Harmon).

Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, one son Kelly Harmon & wife Shelly Harmon; one sister, Teresa Harmon Coons (Kelly); two grandchildren, Jayden Harmon, and Grace Harmon. He also leaves behind a special niece and nephew, Jodi Soto, and Andrew Coons.

A memorial service to celebrate Philip’s life will be held on Sunday, July 07, 2019, at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service, with the Rev. Drew Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
