Phillip Edward Carroll

September 6, 1957 — August 28, 2017

 

Edward Carroll, age 59, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.  A native and lifelong resident of McDowell County, North Carolina, born September 06, 1957, he was the son of the late James and Dozena McMahan Carroll.

 

A gentle and kind man, Edward enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and watching western shows. He loved to travel; and for over 32 years drove a tractor trailer for Shuford Lumber in Marion.  

 

Edward’s family was the most important thing to him. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Ann Gibson Carroll of the home; one son, Charlie Carroll and his fiancé, Heather Huskins of Marion; one granddaughter and special friend to him, Mayce Carroll; one sister, Judy Autrey and her husband, Glen of Burnsville; and a number of nieces and nephews.   

 

A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Carroll will be held on Saturday, September 02, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Revs. Glen Autrey and Ronnie Whitson officiating.  Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
