Perry “Jack” Ross, 83, of Marion passed away at Autumn Care of Marion on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.
Jack was born in McDowell County on May 19, 1939 to the late William Elmer Ross and Ruby Masters Ross. He was preceded in death by daughters Angela Depaiva and Jackie Shaneah Ross McCauley.
Jack loved the beauty of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a collector of coins, stamps, and Native American artifacts. He was an avid reader and lover of history. He loved the Lord, his wife, and his family! He enjoyed spending time with loved ones and his wife’s cooking! He was a 1957 graduate of Marion High School. He had a natural aptitude for business and was the owner/operator of Ross Skid Products, Inc. for nearly 50 years. Jack was loving, humble, kind, and very giving of the gifts the Lord had bestowed upon him. He enjoyed helping others. He was so very loved and will be greatly missed!
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 57 years, Ada Ruth Womac Ross; children, Jenna Ross Taylor and Jacob Daylen Ross; sons in law, Larry McCauley and Brad Taylor; children from prior marriage, Terri Fussell, Dr Mark Ross (Diane), Lazette Welch (Tim); a brother, James Leonard Ross; grandchildren, Aleigha West (Ryan), Caleb McCauley, Charity McCauley, Ara Taylor, Brielle Taylor, and Luke Ross (14 total grandchildren); great grandchildren, Sophia, Noah, Caylin, Maximus, Charleigh and Kendrick; special friends, Joyce Davis, Maria Davis, and Teresa Hurt; so many other special relatives/loved ones/friends.
A funeral service will take place in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place Monday, March 20, 2023 at McDowell Memorial Park.
