Pearl Gouge Martin

Pearl Gouge Martin, 94, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, January 05, 2021.

A native of McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Genett Gouge Hollar.

Pearl was retired from Burlington Industries and was an active member of the First Free Will Baptist Church for 25 years.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Carl W. Martin.

Saddened by this loss are two daughters, Patricia Elliott and Betty M. Jackson (Joe); three grandchildren, Jeff Kelly (Vandera), Kim Burkett, and Chris Elliott (Christine); and four great grandchildren, Brittany Francher (Drew), Blake Burkett, Mason Elliott, and Connor Elliott.

A private service will be held, and burial will be at McDowell Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Burton and his staff for the excellent care they gave their mother.
