Pearl Cox

Pearl Hollifield Cox, age 104, of Marion, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Autumn Care of Marion with her family by her side.  Born in Saluda, North Carolina on May 1, 1911, she was the daughter of Mack and Levina Warren Hollifield.

A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Pearl enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She was formerly employed with American Thread Company.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Vance Cox and son Vance Cox, Jr.

She is survived by her two loving daughters, Kathleen Burnett and Janice Wilson; four grandchildren, Jerry Burnett, Kristy Gross, Janell Dale and Janna Hughes; eight great grandchildren, Carrie Burnett, Alex Burnett, Austin Raines, Brett Raines, Luke Gross, Kennedy Gross, Amber Stapleton and Jonathon Stapleton; four great great grandchildren, Hailey Nanny, Payton Nanny, Asher Schism and Paisley Schism.

A funeral service will be held Sunday March 20, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Hankins Baptist Church with Rev. Danny White officiating. Interment will follow at the Turkey Cove Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the church.
