Pauletta Rash Burleson

Pauletta Rash Burleson, 70, of Newland, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023.

She was born in Asheville on May 2, 1953 to the late Paul Edward Rash and Bonnie Minerva Johnson Burleson. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Huffman.

Pauletta was a faithful member of New Manna Baptist Church where she served as a teacher for the Special Citizens. She truly loved her church. She was employed with Baxter Healthcare for 34 years. Cooking and following Carolina Basketball were her passions. Pauletta also enjoyed fishing and traveling all over the country with her husband. Her family and friends meant the world to her, and she never failed to show her love for them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Sam Burleson; her twin brother, Paul Eddie Rash (Christy); niece, Sharon Moore; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Clinton Burleson (Darlene), Arla Collins (Randy), Debbie Murphy (Jerry), Sharon Guzman (Raul), and Richard Burleson (Tammy).

The family will hold a memorial service on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at New Manna Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Shirley officiating. They will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
