Paul Edwards

Paul Edwards, born on April 8, 1927, in Polk County, North Carolina, entered eternal rest peacefully at his residence on December 14, 2024. A proud US Army Veteran, he was known throughout his life as a dedicated hard worker, particularly in his early career as a heavy machine operator.

Paul's passion for life extended beyond his career; he was an avid gardener whose love for the earth was evident in the lush garden he tended to each season. He cherished the joy of sharing the fruits of his labor with neighbors and friends, fostering connections and community ties through the simple act of giving.

He leaves behind a loving family who will remember him fondly. His daughters, Wanda Edwards Clark and her husband Douglas, and Kathy Edwards Wright and her husband Lester, cherish the many memories they created with him. Paul also held a special place in the hearts of his sister, Estelle Bryant, and his grandchildren: Leesha Wolfe and her husband Chris, Joseph Clark and his fiancé Ginger, Dougie Clark, and Joshua Wright and his wife Jennifer. Additionally, he is survived by five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Paul reunites with his beloved wife, Ruth Washburn Edwards, who predeceased him, and together they will be fondly remembered by their family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service, followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 PM with Rev. David Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at the Washburn Family Cemetery. 

Memorial donations may be made to Turkey Cove Baptist Church or The Washburn Family Cemetery.
