Patsy Deyton

Patsy Smith Deyton, age 63, of Marion, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.  A native and lifelong residence of McDowell County, she was born December 18, 1953 and was the daughter of James Henry Smith of Marion and the late Maybelle Worley Smith. 

Patsy, who enjoyed doing crafts and working puzzles, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Through the years, she was known to have taken care of many kids.  In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by one brother, Ray Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Ronald Deyton, of the home; three daughters, Tammy Gouge and her husband, Richard, Connie Slone and Kimberly McKinney, all of Marion; two sisters, Betty Silvers and Peggy Mills, both of Marion; three brothers, Stoney Smith, Darrell Smith and Jay Harold Smith, all of Marion; five grandchildren, Haiden, Cory, Casey, Summer and Autumn; and one great-granddaughter, Paislee.  A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A private interment will be held at Smith Family Cemetery in Marion.
