Patricia Lee Stroud

Patricia Lee Krause Stroud, 71, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care following an extended illness which she handled with a cheerful attitude and grace.

She was born in McDowell County on October 02, 1949 to the late William Burgin Krause, Jr. and Lucille Pittman Krause.

Pat worked for McDowell Memorial Park in sales. She was a member of Cross Mill Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she served in the women’s ministry. A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she enjoyed trips to Cades Cove. She was active in Princess House and the Red Hat Society. Pat also enjoyed sports, including bowling, softball, and the Senior Games.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Helen Lonon and her husband, Rev. Calvin; one brother Johnny Krause.

Survivors include her children, Dean Stroud (Pat) and Renee S. Thomas (Randall); six grandchildren, Kaitlyn Thomas, Caleb Thomas, Rebecca Loftis (Mike), Regina Robertson, Tammy Carpenter (Rick), and  Gabriel Arrowood; five great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Billie Sue Rhom.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at McDowell Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Doug Beane-Hall officiating.
