Patricia “Patsy” Ann Dalton Curtis, age 70, of Marion, surrounded by her family, passed away on Saturday, January 07, 2017 at her residence. A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born January 09, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Anna Mae Woods Dalton.
A Godly mother, grandmother and sister, Patsy loved her family, people, and life in general and was a longtime member of Carson’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by, in addition to her parents, her husband, John D. Curtis; one brother, Cecil Dalton; and one sister, Lois Roland.
She is survived by three daughters, Amanda Cable (David), Lisa Kirby (Doug), Kim Bartlett (Jeff); special niece, Teresa Schism; two step-children, Morris Curtis and Kim Church (Mike), all of McDowell County; two sisters, Gay Leslie and Judy Robbins (Earl); and two brothers, Wilbur Dalton (Margie) and Randall Dalton (Carol). Patsy is also survived by her five grandchildren, Brooklyn Wilson, Brent Wilson, Kasey Huskins, Shannon Braswell and Andrew Cable; four great grandchildren, Natalie Soeder, Payton Huskins, Trenton Huskins and Mayleigh Huskins; and a number of nieces, nephews and close friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service, Rutherford Road in Marion.
A funeral service to honor the life of Patsy will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Carson’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Morrison officiating. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Patsy’s memory are asked to consider, Carson’s Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 346, Marion, North Carolina 28752.
