Patricia Lee Carswell Fincher

Patricia Lee Carswell Fincher, 72, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed peacefully away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 after her courageous battle with cancer.

A native of McDowell County, she was born on April 18, 1949 to the late Lenoir Douglas Carswell and Hazel Bell Lawing Carswell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Leon Carswell.

Patty was primarily a lifelong resident of Nebo. She served as a hairstylist at New Image Hairstyles for over 40 years. While there, she established a very loyal customer base which she would often describe as a group of her best friends.

She was a devoted mother and fiercely loyal to her entire family. She had tremendous faith and would unselfishly do anything she could to help others during their time of need. She was loved immeasurably by all of those that were lucky enough to know her. She will be missed beyond words.

She is survived by her husband, William “Butch” Fincher; her son, Doug Jennings and wife, Jennifer; two grandchildren, Peyton Jennings and Ethan Jennings; stepson, Sean Fincher (Amy) and family, two siblings, Carolyn Kiser and Jerry Carswell (Joyce); nieces, Kim Hemphill, Karen King, Jennifer Cable, Stephanie Carswell and multiple great-nieces and nephews .

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Revs. Danny Castle and Dean Owenby officiating. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
